Ugly Child, Part 2

Here I am as a baby although I will admit that I was not totally unfortunate looking when I was a new-ish person. But then I started growing a mullet and playing with cigarettes, and it was somewhat downhill after that. And don't even get me STARTED on my taste in shoes...

Best Shot Monday - Say Cheese!

I actually have taken a fair amount of photos over the last week, but these are two of my favorites. The sweet three year old of one of my classmates, and the view from the parking lot at my school.

Best Shot Monday: Quality Time

You all were so kind to me last week with all my ramblings and combining of things. There are no words to thank you - really, it was just what I needed.

I am happy to report that I am not yet behind on schoolwork and that I am still loving my new job. The only thing that was still rough was that I wasn't spending enough time with the boys. Because when a two year old is calling to listen to you on your voicemail message, you know that things could stand to be improved.

I don't have it all figured out yet, but I sure am trying.

But last week things finally fell into a better place -- the weather was amazing, and I got to spend some quality time with the boys; time that was every bit as much for me as it was for them! And we got to spend a little time with our favorite friends too - Sarah, Jacob, and Ben (or, as we refer to them, SJB). And while it might have just been a 30 minute trip to the park, the excellent quality MORE than made up for the lacking in quantity.

And these are my favorite shots from last week -- the pure joy of a little quality time.

And in the non-wordless portion of Wednesday, I need a few volunteers to help me with my homework. I need you to answer the question: What is happiness/what does it mean to be happy? If you are so inclined to assist me (which I would greatly appreciate) you can leave your answer in the comments, or email me at andtheducksaid at gmail dot com Thanks!

All Rolled Into One

I started a new job last week - one that I LOVE and am enjoying a ton. But one that is taking up significant portions of my time, and is somewhat invading my time for blogging. Full time work, full time graduate school, full time life -- I have *no idea* why I feel like I have no time to get anything done... But never fear, I have combined SOOC Saturday, Project 365, and Best Shot Monday all into one. Hooray!

My SOOC Saturday shots are Sept 6th and Sept 7th.

And my best shot from last week is Sept 12th.

And they all make up my Summary Saturday: Project 365, Week 36.

Ugly Child, Part 1

I know that I promised proof that I was the ugliest child ever last week, but I was too busy with good looking children and didn't get to it. But never fear, the series is about to start.

Of course, all children start as newborns. Lucky for me, I looked just like every other newborn.

Maggie, Newborn 001

See, told you.

Except I came home in a Christmas stocking. Oh, the benefits of being born 7 days before Christmas.

Maggie, Newborn 002

I like to think that my parents' Christmases have all been down hill since then.

Luckily, their hairstyles have been uphill.

Maggie, Spring 1981 001

I will take this opportunity to point out that I have been as pale as a ghost my entire life.

Maggie, Summer 1981 001

And also that I think there might be an underlying reason as to why I don't wear hats.

Maggie, Spring 1981 003

I would also like to point out that I have always had HUGE cheeks.

Maggie, Fall 1981 001

I will admit that I don't think I was a bad looking baby. But really, there aren't too many really ugly small children. But I promise you, it gets worse. MUCH worse. Stay tuned, the ugly years and your chance to point and laugh at me await.
