Theme Thursday - Texture

This week's theme is texture, which I will admit has caused me a significant amount of stress, given that I have never attempted texture...well, ever. But I thought that I would have plenty of time to figure it out and perhaps not totally embarrass myself when I showed you what I managed to come up with.

And then I became horribly, utterly, and violently ill. Which can only be described as no fun at all. I wanted to die. But because dying seems like a fairly poor choice, I have persevered to present to you my first attempt at using texture. Which, due to aforementioned illness, has taken me hours. Not because I am THAT slow, and only due to the fact that I can only sit upright for approximately 5 minutes at a time.

But despite whatever the (*$% is wrong with me the plague, I have to admit that, like all the other cool kids, I am totally in love with texture. And I am excited to learn how to use it while not simultaneously wishing for death to use it. So here it is, my first attempt...

Bennett (2) with texture

Please, be gentle.

Ohhhhhh! I loveee it!!!!!!! You seriously did a wonderful job! Mine is up, and is also my first attempt! :)

Oh...and I have been violently ill, as well... Today is the first day since Sunday I was even able to really do anything. My poor neglected children... and my poor family, because I really couldn't even shower. I know, TMI... but it's true! ah! I now smell good and can sit upright.

Hope you, too, smell good and are sitting upright!!!

Well, first off, I hope you feel better soon! Wanting to die because you are sick is just not fun.

Secondly, you did a very nice job with your first attempt. It is nice and subtle and you chose a great shot of your little cutie for it.

Wonderful first experiment with textures. You did a nice job giving the background a sandstone blurred look. And it's subtle, which is all the picture needs to draw the eye right where you want it to go.
