Being a toddler, it is not unsual for Garrett to whine and fuss when he doesn't get to do something. And my general response is "Life is hard."
And it is.
I just neglet to mention to him that it never really gets any easier.

Oh dear, I hope life is not being too hard for you at the moment. My favourite expression at the moment, particularly when teenagers whine is: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to you, you will have a very blessed life....." :-)
They hate me.
I say that all the time to Carson, he usually just looks at me like I'm crazy. Poor kid doesn't know how good he has it.
