I'm Thinking of Changing My Name...

...to Grace.

Why, you ask? Well, allow me to present to you exhibit A:

What is that? Why that would be my left leg.

What happened to it? Well I fell down...clearly not very delicately.

What do you mean, what was I doing when I fell? I was walking attempting to walk across the parking lot. And I wasn't even chewing gum...or talking on the phone...or anything else. I was just walking trying to walk.

Clearly I look like I came out on the wrong end of a fight which I did, only the fight was with the parking lot, so I couldn't stay the way I was. Since I was already at school for the day (and I live about 30 minutes away), I decided it was best to just buy some new clothes at the bookstore (since it's a medical school we have scrubs for sale) and call it good. After all, I didn't want to keep explaining to people that I was just fine and not fatally wounded seriously injured once they saw my leg.

Although I did fess up to my difficulty with the very complicated task of walking mishap in the parking lot throughout the day, since it 1) explained my limp and 2) was funny. I mean really, when was the last time you saw an adult up and fall down? Besides, I go to school with people who are anxious and stressed, and far be it from me to rob them of the chance to laugh at someone else for being stupid laugh a little.

It is really unfortunate that no one was around when I fell - I not only fell down, but I was carrying my purse, my school bag full of my binder and laptop and papers, as well as a large diet coke and a coffee drink. Which all went flying...and everyone knows that once you are sure the person who fell down isn't dead it's totally okay to laugh. Heck, even *I* laughed when it happened!

This is what it looks like now -- although the picture doesn't do the swelling justice...it's like I have a golf ball attached to my knee. Which, as you can imagine, is outrageously attractive!

Or, put another way, it's a good thing I don't wear shorts very often...

Because I Needed Just One More Thing...

That's right, I'm moving. In less than a month. While class is still in session.

Obviously I must have a death wish.

But just in case this doesn't kill me...any one have great tips on moving? I'm all ears!

Weekend By The Numbers

Jodifur shared her numbers for the weekend. And since I love things like that, I figured I would follow suit...although I'm pretty sure that none of my numbers are too exciting...

5: minutes I was able to stay home on call before my phone rang and called me in to work.

11: hours worked Saturday night, after being called in.

1: number of patients I delivered while at work on previously mentioned Saturday night.

90: minutes spent at the dog park on a GORGEOUS Easter Sunday.

1.5: number of totally exhausted pups after trip to dog park. Technically I do have two dogs, but the puppy is so small I'm not sure she counts as a whole dog just yet...

18: hours spent studying for my finals this week. Don't be impressed, if it hadn't been for working Saturday night the number would have been much, much higher.

2: number of hours remaining, at this very moment, until the first Cardinals game of the season. Hooray for baseball!

3: number of finals I have this week.

9: weeks left before I am completely finished with my first year of medical school. Surely I can survive that much longer...right?

7: consecutive hours of sleep I got last night. Which, I will have you know, is a MAJOR thrill and accomplishment for me. I am clearly still learning to sleep through the night.

Project 365 - Week 2

I bet after all my talk about getting back into Project 365 and then never posting past the first week that you thought I forgot all about it, didn't you?

Well, I sort of did - or at least I forgot about the uploading -- but I did keep up with the picture taking...and so now it's time to play catch up!

Project 365

In 2008 I did Project 365...and I loved it. I have had most of that year put into various coffee table books, and I just love being able to look back over the year and remember things.

I started off doing it in 2009, but couldn't quite seem to keep up. So I quit about halfway through and just forgot about it.

This year Cara has been doing her project 365, and it has reminded me how much I miss doing it. Even if I don't get it all put together right away, I really want to be able to look back and remember what these days are like -- especially since I can hardly remember how the day started once it's over!

So, even though it's March, I'm starting again. A week at a time, so even if I miss a day it shouldn't be too obvious...

Project 365 - Week 1

Cara -- thank you a million times over for inspiring me to get back into the project 365 game...and for telling me how to do those fantastic collages! You're the best!
